Project Background
Sunnywell Printing is very professional in coffee table books. We can customize high-end hardcover picture albums according to customers' requirements. An Israeli client found us. They are artists and wanted to customize a batch of their photography albums / coffee table books. They required exquisite binding, accurate and rich printing, and had a deadline for shipping. Some books needed to be express-shipped to Israel urgently, and the rest needed to be shipped by sea to Spain. In the end, due to our efforts and working overtime, we finally completed the task on time with guaranteed quality and quantity, and received praise from the client.
First, the client found us through our website and said they needed to customize their art book, which was very similar to what we had done before. To make communication easier, the client asked if we could have a video meeting. They gave the final plan for the paper, cover material, cover craftsmanship, and binding of the book. After both sides agreed on the price, we started mass production.

Pre-press Preparation
First, we compared the client's images and checked with many bookbinding cloth suppliers. We found several very similar cover fabrics and sent them to the client for comparison and confirmation. The client finally confirmed the choice of model 60118.
At the same time, to save time, we arranged color samples and did a preliminary confirmation with the client through photos and videos. The book color proof are both indoor and outdoor pictures and video.
After completing the color sample and paper confirmation, we immediately arranged the customization of the paper and cover materials. At the same time, we laid out the client's files and made blueprint proofs, getting ready for mass printing.

Generally speaking, art albums or coffee table books use matte coated paper or offset paper, and some special ones use super-sensing paper. For this art book, we used 157g matte coated paper. We used FSC-certified, environmentally friendly, high-quality paper to make sure the printed colors are vivid, and the ink won't smudge or crack when folding.
As we had already decided on the inside paper and cover material during pre-press, we could start mass printing right away after the blueprint files were confirmed.
Printing
Quality Inspection and Binding
After printing is completed, we carry out printing quality inspection. Once we make sure there are no problems with the printing, we wait for the ink to dry completely and then start preparing for the binding stage, which includes folding, collating, and thread sewing. This art book is a bit complex: there are two types of paper for the inside pages. The main body of the book is matte coated paper, and there are three places inside with a 12-page insert. The insert pages also need to be thread-sewn together. As shown in the picture.
